HOUSTON DYNAMO 1, KANSAS CITY WIZARDS 1

HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

On the game:
"It's still a valuable point. With Dallas losing, we've still gained a point. You'd like to stretch your lead if you could, but it didn't happen. The guys showed good attitude coming out in the second half. I think we frustrated ourselves in the first half. The second half we played a little more relaxed. We shared the ball a little better. We were a little more crisp, and I believe that's what led to the goal. We kind of made it hard for ourselves with some silly mistakes."

On the goal:
"We were trying to tell the guys up front to be a little more mobile. It was Joseph [Ngwenya's] second run that really got away from Nick Garcia. I thought it was an excellent run and an excellent goal."

On major moves made in the lineup:
"People probably see Craig Waibel's name on the list for subs, but he wasn't available. I had him there because he brings a good 'team first' attitude. He's a good leader with a good voice. Looking at our squad and where we're at, I tried to put my best team on the field. Ryan [Cochrane] has played right back before. The goal came from a bad giveaway, but I thought we were solid defensively."

HOUSTON DYNAMO DEFENDER PATRICK IANNI

On the defense:
"There was obviously a little too much space between us in the first half, but overall we were all right defensively."

On the first 20 minutes:
"We had a tough time getting into a rhythm. I think the first 45 minutes all together had to do with challenging for balls. We were letting them get too many free balls. It makes it easy for them when they can bring balls down without being touched. You have to get in on them and make it more difficult for them to get balls."

On Eddie Johnson's goal:
"The ball got played in behind our back line. There was a series of mistakes on that play. You can't pick anyone out. I'm just as at fault as anyone, so we'll just leave it at that."

On the team's morale:
"I think everyone's disappointed. There have been four or five games here in MLS that we've had a bit of a struggle. Obviously we've got injuries, but I think the team as a whole expects to be better."

HOUSTON DYNAMO FORWARD JOSEPH NGWENYA

On the game:
"Obviously we came in and tried to peg them in. I thought we came in firing. They were lucky to get the one chance. They scored the first goal. It's nice to come back and tie the game, but still disappointed that we didn't get the three points."

On the goal:
"I tried to take the guy away, and that was just a great ball by Dwayne [De Rosario]. He led me in with it. It's easy to score with that kind of ball."

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER DWAYNE DE ROSARIO

On the game:
"I think every time we play at home we want to walk away with three points. Coming in on the half at 1-0 is a little disappointing. I think we had our chances tonight. They had one chance, and they buried it. That could be the difference of the game. We came out in the second half and created a lot of chances. That's what led to our goal.

On the goal:
"Eddie [Robinson] split the defense and gave me a nice ball in the midfield. I turned and was able to see the whole field. I started making my run. I saw Joseph [Ngwenya] making a run wide left looking like he was leaving the middle open for a one on one opportunity, and he made a nice dart toward the middle. I just made a pass through to him. Nice finish."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS HEAD COACH CURT ONALFO

On his team's performance:
"I thought it was a good overall performance. I thought the first half was very good. I loved the fact that we created all the way and got ourselves a goal in the 45th minute."

On the result:
"There are some things that we wanted to shore up in our game, and we played five games in 14 days, which is very difficult. Our guys gave everything they had to walk out of here with a point."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS FORWARD EDDIE JOHNSON

On the game:
"It was a tough game. We knew it was going to be a tough road trip. They were real physical today, and they made it difficult for us."

On Houston's goal:
"Good teams find a way to come back, and it was a good run through the middle by Dwayne [De Rosario], a great ball to Ngwenya and a good finish."

On his team's performance:
"We always work hard as a team, but that one mental lapse we always do to give games away is something we've been really inconsistent with. The majority of teams that score first in this league end up winning the game. But we'll take the point. It's a positive result on the road against a good team."
