Quotes: HOU 1, FCD 1

FC DALLAS 1, HOUSTON DYNAMO 1

HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

On the draw:
"The game is a sour point for us. I thought we had more than enough chances in the first few minutes to possibly put the game out of reach. We were in good situations and had good chances. To get a tie out of it, we are not happy. The guys are disappointed, as we should be. At the halfway point [of the season], I don't think we are getting as many points as we want or need."

On finishing opportunities:
"With good chances you need to score goals, and we didn't. We were pretty solid defensively and sometimes you need more than one [goal] to finish the game."

On Olympic call-ups:
"It is definitely going to affect our forward play, but it is so far away it is hard to say what is going to happen. It is hard to predict what the team is going to look like three weeks from now when things change so quickly."

HOUSTON DYNAMO FORWARD BRIAN CHING

On the goal:
"It was a good ball by Craig (Waibel), I put my head on it and it went into the back of the goal, but it was disappointing to only get the tie."

On his personal performance:
"I'll be the first one to say that I didn't have a great game tonight, but we had mistakes tonight. It is frustrating but it needs to be changed."

HOUSTON DYNAMO GOALKEEPER PAT ONSTAD

On the game:
"We probably played our best first half of soccer all season, and actually in the first half we came out very well, but we just keep giving away goals that are killing us. Unfortunately for us, we couldn't get that killer second goal."

On his response to the goal:
"I have just been frustrated and everything from this season just came out. We have given up goals when we have played well. I thought tonight we were defensively fantastic until the goal. After that happened, we completely fell apart."

FC DALLAS HEAD COACH SCHELLAS HYNDMAN

On the game:
"I thought the Dynamo did a very good job in the first half. We were in a flat back four system, and we were having trouble with Brad Davis coming into the center unmarked, and we knew that they would be very strong on the service."

On the second half:
"In the second half, we went into a 3-5-2 and saw a different Dallas team that came out more aggressive and held the ball a little better. We were happy to come away with a point."

On bringing on Dominic Oduro at halftime:
"We were looking for Oduro to bring pure, electric speed. He really put Houston back on their tails and we got plenty more chances to attack. We saw a significantly different team in the second half."

On tying the season series:
"The guys in this locker room feel like they accomplished something, tying this team which won the last two MLS titles three times this season. It tells you how this team is built mentally. You're down 1-0, you're on the road, we're just happy to come away with a 1-1 tie and think we were happy with the season series.

FC DALLAS FORWARD KENNY COOPER

On the second half:
"We made a tactical change at halftime. Schellas saw the changes in the first half and told us to be more assertive. We were fortunate to have Juan make some quality moves in order for me to be in position to score. We knew this was going to be a 90-plus-minute battle tonight, with them being the league champs. We just needed to keep our composure coming out in the second half."
