COLUMBUS CREW 1, HOUSTON DYNAMO 0

COLUMBUS CREW HEAD COACH SIGI SCHMID

On his team's fast start this season:
"We are happy to be 4-1. We are happy to be undefeated at home. We might have set a league record for blocked shots by a team tonight. We faced a team tonight that was very hungry, very desperate. They're a good team and when you look at it from a soccer aspect, maybe they had a little more of the game. I think our character, our resiliency, our willingness to fight and battle for each other; last year there were a lot of games where we stood here and said, 'Hey, we fought better and we had chances and we lost,' so it is a lot better to be on the other side of the coin."

On getting his 100th MLS win:
"It means that I've been around for a while. But really, what it means is that I've had the privilege of coaching some good players and some guys who have helped achieve that. When, obviously, some guys were out there that have been a part of those wins, like Alejandro [Moreno] and Ezra [Hendrickson] who I have coached for a lot of years. I'm proud of the fact, but I'm more proud of the fact that I've had some good players and that our teams have done well."

COLUMBUS CREW GOALKEEPER WILLIAM HESMER

On his team's ability to hold on for a hard-fought victory:
"That's something that's been missing from this team, I think, in the past couple years, is that willingness to just find a way to win. We persevered, we pressed through some tough times and dodged some bullets, for sure, but at the end of the day we made those critical plays that we had to."

COLUMBUS CREW FORWARD ALEJANDRO MORENO

On scoring four goals in five games this season:
"It's a good start for me, it's a good start for the team. We're all very confident and feeling good about ourselves. It's one of those things where you've got to keep building on it and ride the wave for as long as you can."

On helping Sigi Schmid earn his 100th MLS win:
"Well, it's important because -- and I think Sigi will tell you that -- we have a pretty good relationship and we have a lot of mutual respect for what we do, and to be able to help in his 100th win is special for me, it's special for him and I certainly wish him all the best."

HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

On the team's effort in the game:
"That's the way the bounces are going for us right now. The team's been excellent in effort, desire, attitude, work rate, back and forth and just never stopping. We're just not getting exactly what we're looking for, but we sure are looking for it hard."

On his team's slow start:
"We're disappointed right now, but I can't say it's because of not playing good soccer. It's just sometimes you're getting the breaks and sometimes you're not, and we're getting punished for mistakes and getting punished severely. We never really have gotten a game this year where we've taken the pressure off ourselves, one way or another, and we just told them in there that we have to stick together and we can't let our heads drop too low for too long. Obviously, we're disappointed because I think we came here and deserved something out of the game, but I know this group and I know we'll bounce back."
