"I think we are a good team. I think it's coming together at the right time and we feel good about what's going here. We are getting goals up front, guys in the midfield are tackling hard and defenders are playing unreal, Brad is shining in goal, guys coming out of the bench are helping. It just has a good feel about it."
On Jorge Flores:
"He has been very serious since day one. He is a quiet kid, very humble. He is just winning guys over every day, with his work rate. He works his butt off. He works hard and when guys get on top of him, he just responds by playing harder and that's what you want from a young kid."

On the game:
"It was one of those games. I guess we obviously shot ourselves on the foot. Give them credit: they capitalized on the mistakes we made, they won the game. I think we actually played pretty well in spurts and it was a very lopsided score given the quality of play. I think we created most of the chances in the game and made some individual mistakes that resulted in goals."
On Chivas USA's goals:
"We had our chances. If we had gotten a goal early in the second half or in the first half, the game could have looked differently. We have nowhere else to look but inside. We made some mistakes that were obviously crucial to this game and we were punished for them. They are a good hard working team."
On Clint Mathis' injury:
"Injuries are a part of the game, it happens. To make a change in the first half is difficult and to start the second half with a change is tough. I think our effort was there. We played well for long spurts in that game, but some of the individual breakdowns we had were clearly the differences in the game. Give them credit, you have to jump on opponents' mistakes and they certainly did that."

"I thought we gave away a goal too early. That's when they are at their best, when they can defend a lead, that's when they're more dangerous rather than when they have to make the game. We knew that, but we still conceded and that's bad on our part. I thought the first half we were the better team. Maybe they let us be the better team. I thought we had a few good chances as well; we just needed to capitalize on those opportunities."
On Chivas USA's performance:
"We knew that they are at their best when they have the lead, yet when they have to make the game they're not such a great team. We just gave them the game in the fourth minute."

"Our mistakes especially in the first half, led us to concede a goal. It was a poor goal to concede. It's obviously hard to chase out the game. We had a few chances in the second half. We did great but we didn't convert them."
On New York's offense:
"I think apart from the game, we created a few chances that we could have converted on. It wasn't a good day for us."
On losing Clint Mathis:
"He is an important player for us and obviously having to make a change in the first half is hard for us. Mike Magee did very well when he came on. He was good with the ball; he kept position for us and made some good passes. Overall I think it was a good performance by him."
