TORONTO HEAD COACH MO JOHNSTON

On the game:

"I'm feeling sorry for the guys in the locker room because I felt they left everything on the field tonight. I felt they played well, they (D.C.) really only had one clear chance, it came from a long ball and we were unfortunate and he snuck it underneath Kenny, but I felt tonight the team played well as a whole, they worked hard for each other, we just couldn't get a break."

On the mood in the locker room:

"They're very disappointed. I told them, look for the next eight games if you show that sort of commitment we're going to be OK. Sometimes you just need a lucky break and that's what this team needs right now."

On the long layoff before their next game:

"It's important that these guys get a little bit of a break. It's been a long haul for them since January, I've given them Sunday, Monday off, then we'll regroup Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, then give them the whole weekend off and then we'll prepare for Dallas."

TORONTO DEFENDER JIM BRENNAN

On the goalless streak:

"I think it's most frustrating than anything. When you do work hard and you think you deserve something and you don't get it, it's frustrating. Now, the thing is we're a good group of guys we work hard for one another, we're all sticking together and we know it's going to come -- it's a matter of just when."

TORONTO MIDFIELDER CARL ROBINSON

On leaving next week for Wales national team

"Whoever comes in, we're obviously we're going thru a little sticky patch at the moment. Performance-wise I think we're playing well, goals-wise we obviously can't score, but you know the effort was there. Commitment was there, felt there was frustration there at times, but the end result isn't there."

TORONTO MIDFIELDER MAURICE EDU

On the play of Troy Perkins:

"It's hard you know, especially the position we're in right now. Any other day you think something like that would have gone in or any other chances you had would have gone in, but my hat's off to him he had a good game, I thought we did well to create chances but he came up big for them, made some big plays for them."

D.C. UNITED HEAD COACH TOM SOEHN

On the game:

"You know they came out flying and put us under a lot of pressure, you know sometimes the game -- especially on the road -- it's going to turn into a dogfight and give our guys credit because we've dealt with it pretty well. They kept throwing in service and free kicks and we were able to dodge a lot, but it was a roll up your sleeve day and work, and that's what we did."

On play of Troy Perkins:

"Troy did well; he managed the box very well. You know, they (Toronto) survive on free kicks, they've got a few guys that can hurt you on set pieces, they're a hand full, we gave them too many but, Troy managed the box very well and we were able to keep them out."

D.C. UNITED DEFENDER BRYAN NAMOFF

On the game:

"It was a great result, any time you can battle for 90 minutes and pull away a road game victory like this is great credit to us, and to the defensive shape of our entire team. It's just a great victory all around, we said we wanted to come out strong in the first 15 minutes, we knew they were going to come and press the beginning of the first half, they're at home they have nothing to lose -- they defended like crazy and we were lucky enough to put a ball behind them and get a goal early."

D.C. UNITED DEFENDER GREG VANNEY

On playing against Danny Dichio:

"It's tough because you know, obviously Dichio -- he's a house, he's tough to move, and you know he's going to win it. But the game it's predictable -- what they do is predictable, and we did a great job of picking up second balls, tracking runners, getting balls that are knocked down. We knew that if we could do that we could eliminate a good portion of their attack."

On how the squad is playing:

"It's a deep team, there's a lot of guys who are playing well right now and a lot of guys that are confident, and we're defending very well as a team, not just the back four ... and any time you can get zero, then you have a chance to win, and you know we got that one chance early on and Fred took it well."
