CHIVAS USA 1, REAL SALT LAKE 0 CHIVAS USA HEAD COACH PREKI

On the game:

"I would have not liked to be so excited the last few minutes because I thought we had plenty of opportunities to close the game early. But we'll take it the way it is. It's been a hard week for us, three games, three difficult opponents, obviously nine points feels pretty good right now. Now we have two days off and we will be back to normal schedule and get ready to play D.C. United."
On the result:

"The game could have been 3-0 for Chivas USA. That's the thing, we made it very exciting at the end, the game should have been over before, but we give them credit; they fought, they made it difficult for us and at the end they had one or two chances themselves. It could have gone wrong but Guzan made a great save."
CHIVAS USA MIDFIELDER JESSE MARSCH
On his goal:

"I was just trying to get a piece of it. Ante and I have played together for many years, in any given game there are 10 plays where we know what to expect from each other. He played a perfect ball to me and I got a piece of it."
On his physical condition:

"At halftime they asked me if I was tired. They were looking at me like I was a wounded horse. But I was still feeling good."
On the team's missed scoring chances:

"It was good in the past few games even without the goals we've missed twice as many. Just getting the lead was good. I wish we could have built on it, but at the end it's three points either way."
CHIVAS USA GOALKEEPER BRAD GUZAN
On three shutouts in the last three wins:

"The credit goes to the guys in front of me. I tilt my hat to them. They make my job a lot easier, when you have to face one to two shots in a game. They did a great job, and we are going to continue to push forward and make a run at the last 10 games."
On the chances Chivas missed, and his last save:

"Overall I think we played well tonight and we deserved the win. At in end it's a fair result. Now we have to focus on D.C. United, a team that is tough whether it's home or away."
REAL SALT LAKE HEAD COACH JASON KREIS
On the frustration of not being able to score:

"That's what it comes down to really, it's just that final pass, that final touch. For us as a staff, we feel like our guys came into it with the right mentality, they had a lot of passion out there, they worked really hard and we've got nothing to hang our head about with that. Obviously I think in the first half we didn't do well enough possessing the ball, in the second half we were much better, we created quite a few chances and we just scratched our heads looking for that last touch."
On Nick Rimando's performance early in the game:

"He was fantastic again. He's made a host of saves there to keep us alive."

On Fabian Espindola's first start:
"I think there were some bright moments and again I keep throwing that word transition around. It'll be a transition period for him and the other two players as well. I thought there were some good moments but also some that is said to be cleaned up."

REAL SALT LAKE GOALKEEPER NICK RIMANDO
On the frustration of playing good defense and not getting wins:

"We put the work in during the week and we're chasing goals, that what's wrong with us. We need to get the first goal."
On the team's wins against tough teams:

"I think the hardest thing for me is that we're losing these games 1-0 and somehow we win against Houston. Why can't we keep it consistent? I think that's the big word here."

On RSL's new Argentinian acquisitions:
"I think MLS has done good with the Argentines that have come over [so far]. Christian [Gómez] is obviously one of the best .They're young, they're good players, they're good with their feet, they're technical."
