Quote sheet: Chivas 3, Galaxy 0

CHIVAS USA 3, LOS ANGELES GALAXY 0

CHIVAS USA HEAD COACH PREKI
On the result:

"I thought we played a total game. I thought from the first moment we established ourselves, we dominated, we created a lot of chances we even could have gone in up at the half. But you know sometimes you have to be patient. We were patient, we were disciplined, we knew our chances would come and we put a couple away in the end."

On whether it was a good decision not to play Jonathan Bornstein:

"I told him before the game he was not playing. Unless something incredible happens that we have to use him for 15 minutes. But I didn't feel he could play under those conditions."

On Chivas USA's next game Sunday vs. Real Salt Lake:

"We have an incredible opportunity here. Now we've got to understand that all this will be spoiled if we don't come out and be ready to play on Sunday. We've got to come out and be ready. Sunday's going to be a very important game. We saw what happened with the [New York] Red Bulls the other day. They had a very good win against the Galaxy: 5-4, a high, emotional game. They went four days later and they lost [to D.C.]. So we've got to make sure that we're all ready to play."

CHIVAS USA FORWARD MAYKEL GALINDO
On his two goals:

"On the first one I saw that the defender had trouble clearing the ball and when the goalkeeper was coming off his line I touched it in. The second one was a very good team effort and I just finished it. But the best was the win for the team and the fact that we collected three more points."

On celebrating his first goal in front of the Galaxy fans:

"I celebrated in front of them because at the beginning of the game I saw that Claudio [Suárez] and 'Pancho' [Francisco Mendoza] were upset at the Galaxy fan club mocking us by wearing sombreros. Pancho and Claudio felt it was a lack of respect. After all, they are Mexican and I defend these Mexican colors. That's why I went over there and now they are feeling the pain with our win and the 3-0 scoreline."

CHIVAS USA MIDFIELDER JESSE MARSCH
On his first-half tackle against Galaxy midfielder David Beckham:

"He had kind of gotten a piece of me quite before that. So it was somewhat a retaliation, somewhat a tactical foul because he was on a break. And like I said it was harder than I would have liked it to have been and I apologized to him. I told him I respect what he's about. He was kind of done with me though."

On whether he and David Beckham are 'cool' now:

"It doesn't really matter. We're on two different teams, it's not like we're hanging out in free time. It was competitive and that's the way it goes sometimes."

On the resulting melee just before halftime:

"It was two teams standing up for guys on their team. I think everyone respects him over there and I hope guys respect what I'm all about here. I appreciate all my teammates sticking together and that's what a team's about. I didn't see what happened between [Galaxy midfielder Kevin] Harmse and [Chivas USA defender Alex] Zotinca, but obviously things got a little bit heated. And I thought the rest of the half was pretty emotional on [the Galaxy's] part too, I thought they put a lot into it. But once it comes down to passing I think we did well."

CHIVAS USA MIDFIELDER FRANCISCO MENDOZA
On his performance:

"First of all, I would like to thank God, because things went our way tonight. The team has been working very well, quietly, humbly, and that work gave us this result in our favor. From the beginning we came out with the right mentality, ready to win this game and we did it not just with those three goals, but also with a convincing performance."

On his goal:

"Everything is the product of team work, of my teammates contribution and I feel a great deal of gratitude about that, because I feel that they are confident, as well as the coaching staff, about my contribution to this team."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY DEFENDER CHRIS KLEIN
On playing his first Super Clasico:

"It's my first time playing in one of these. It's a different atmosphere, and playing against a team that you share a stadium with, but to be quite honest the fight we're in is a little different right now, and it kind of took the focus off the Super Clasico, at least in my mind. There will be more of these, and I look forward to get this one back."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY FORWARD LANDON DONOVAN
On tonight's game:

"They were just playing hard. It's tough. They are playing hard. I didn't see any replays of what happened. Some of their plays weren't such clean plays."

On the schedule's effect on the team:

"I can't imagine ever a time where a team, maybe even in the history of professional soccer, that a team has had more games in close succession with travel and injuries. Eventually, it's bound to happen. We're human beings, not robots. Eventually, guys are going to break down and get hurt. A few more guys got muscle strains tonight, because your body physically can't do it."
