Quakes visit Lucile Packard Children's Hospital

San Jose Earthquakes players Ryan Cochrane, Nick Garcia, Ned Grabavoy and Amir Lowery visited children at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford on Tuesday, June 3.

The two-hour long visit began with the players going to the in-patient school where they spoke to the students and helped them with their homework. The students, who were very excited to see Cochrane, Garcia, Grabavoy and Lowery, took pictures and got autographs with the Quakes players.

After visiting the children at the school, Cochrane, Garcia, Grabavoy and Lowery spent time with patients in their rooms and also gave away Earthquakes t-shirts and other souvenirs. The patients were able to talk to the players about soccer, their favorite teams and their favorite movies, among other topics. Garcia and Lowery were able to use their knowledge of Spanish to speak with the Hispanic children at the hospital.

The day concluded with several patients and the players interacting in the hospital playroom. Cochrane and Grabavoy were able to show off their coloring skills with one young fan, while Garcia and Lowery read books and played different games with other children.

Tuesday's visit was the first of several scheduled visits at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital for the Earthquakes.
