Major League Soccer and the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol today announced that Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas, and Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, Cali. will host matches in the 2008 SuperLiga.
The Sunday, July 20 Group B match between current Mexican champion, Santos Laguna, and reigning CONCACAF Champions Cup winner, Pachuca FC, will be played at Pizza Hut Park (9:00 pm CT). Santos is captained by Mexican national team star, goalkeeper Oswaldo Sanchez, while Pachuca boasts one of the most powerful ensemble rosters in the hemisphere.
On Saturday, July 19 the Group A match between Chivas Guadalajara and Atlante is now confirmed to be played at Santa Clara University's Buck Shaw Stadium, currently home to MLS' San Jose Earthquakes. The game will begin at 10:00 pm ET. Chivas, Mexico's most legendary club, features several national team standouts on its all-Mexican roster. Cancun-based Atlante won the 2007 Mexican Apertura Championship.
