Pizza Hut Park to be the home of the FIFA World Cup in North Texas

    FRISCO, Texas - From June 9 to July 9, the Verizon Wireless Club inside Pizza Hut Park will be the place to be to watch all the action of the world's biggest sporting event, the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. Beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday June 9, through the final in Berlin on Sunday, July 9, soccer fans can come to the Verizon Wireless club everyday to watch the World Cup on the club's 30, 42-inch flat screen televisions and the two 19 x 56 foot diamond vision screens inside the stadium.

    Host Germany face Costa Rica at 11:00 a.m. on June 9 to kick off the World Cup. The United States begins play against the Czech Republic on Monday, June 12 with the other first round games against Italy (June 17) and Ghana (June 22).

    Highlights of the Pizza Hut Park World Cup Watching Parties:

  • Parking is free (non-event days)

  • Free Krispy Kreme donuts, pretzels and popcorn with an additional breakfast buffet ($9.95) and complete lunch menu.

  • Technifax Office Solutions, the Official Digital Office Solutions Provider of FC Dallas and Pizza Hut Park will create a Business Center inside the Verizon Wireless Club for all matches: With games happening during business hours, a business center will be set up for people looking to work while they watch the games. Along with free wireless internet access, the Technifax Office Solutions Business Center will provide free access to printers, fax machines, copiers, and supplies.

  • World Cup Viewing Season Pass: Fans can purchase a limited-edition Pizza Hut Park World Cup Viewing Party Commemorative 24-ounce Porcelain Beer Stein ($100) which will serve as a season pass and provide one free beer during every day of the World Cup viewing parties. The steins, which are not necessary for admission, will be numbered and can be hung at the Verizon Wireless bar for daily access. The steins can be reserved beginning today by calling the FCD office at 888-FCD-GOAL.

    Time of games for second round matches and beyond will be 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. (CT) - matchups to be decided following first round games. The first second round games will be on June 24.
