The San Jose Earthquakes along with Soccer United Marketing, announced today that tickets sales for the upcoming match between the Mexican Olympic team and Australia Olympic team on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., PT at McAfee Coliseum in Oakland, have surpassed the 40,000 mark. The match comes just days before Mexico's participation in the CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualification from March 11-23.

With just weeks before the San Jose Earthquakes debut in Major League Soccer, the club is offering a unique two-pack offer that includes a ticket to the March 2 match as well as a ticket to the April 12 team home opener at McAfee Coliseum against the Chicago Fire featuring Mexican legend Cuauhtémoc Blanco. The special offer is available at $30 and $45 depending on seating preference.


The match will mark the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol's return to McAfee Coliseum since roughly a year ago when the full Mexican national team defeated Ecuador 4-2 on March 28, 2007 in front of a sold out crowd of 47,416.


The San Jose Earthquakes are a Major League Soccer expansion franchise and will begin playing in April of 2008.
