Orange roots for The Orange

The Eastern Texas City of Orange has become the latest population to catch Dynamo fever.

Houston's dramatic 2-1 win over the New England Revolution at MLS Cup 2007 to claim their second title in as many years was reason enough for William Brown Claybar, Mayor for the City of Orange, to recently extend his congratulations to the team by issuing a city-wide proclamation, recognizing the team as "Dreamers, Screamers, Believers and Champions" (See the entire proclamation).

"I would like to thank the City of Orange for this proclamation," said Dynamo President and General Manager Oliver Luck. "We feel very proud to be only the second team to win back-to-back championships in Major League Soccer history. This proclamation is good proof that passion for the Dynamo transcends the Houston City limits and reaches all corners of our state."

The Houston Dynamo will open the 2008 season on Saturday, March 29 by visiting the New England Revolution. The team will open its home schedule on Sunday, April 6 against intrastate rival FC Dallas.
