Oliver's Story: Dynamo's new striker

Oliver Luck believes Joseph Ngwenya is a great addition to the Dynamo roster.

SMU -- that might be a realistic goal.)

Jospeh is still a relatively young player at 26 and with the tutelage that Dominic Kinnear and John Spencer will provide we are very optimistic that he can develop into a quality striker for a number of years. By the way, he also has some fantastic dreadlocks, something that has been missing from the locker room since January when we lost Adrian Serioux in the expansion draft.

Even with Joseph in the fold we are continuing to look at potential upgrades for the club. Earlier this week a player arrived from Europe for a week-long tryout with Dynamo. His name is Dyron Dall, he is Dutch (I have to believe that he is attracted by the "oranje" he will find in Houston) and has spent the last couple years in Scotland, most recently playing in Dundee on loan from Aberdeen. He is out of contract and has a legitimate interest in MLS. He had a tremendous run this past spring scoring 4 goals in 5 games for Dundee.

Our goal is to defend the 2006 MLS title. Dominic Kinnear, John Spencer and Mike Toshack are in my opinion the best coaching staff in the league. As an organization we will strive every day to make this team as competitive as possible, trying to identify and sign players, wherever they may be, that can improve the squad. We owe this to the great fans and to the City of Houston.
