NYRB to host FC Dallas in '07 home opener

John Wolyniec and the Red Bulls will host FC Dallas in their 2007 home opener.

SECAUCUS, N.J. - Red Bull New York announced today that the Red Bulls will face FC Dallas in their 2007 home opener on Sunday, April 15th at 3:00 p.m. ET at Giants Stadium. The Red Bulls, who will kick the 2007 season off on Saturday, April 7 against the Columbus Crew at Crew Stadium at 7:00 p.m. ET, will be looking to build on a 2006 season in which they qualified for the MLS playoffs for the fourth-consecutive year.


Led by new head coach Steve Morrow, FC Dallas ended their 2006 campaign at the top of the Western Conference standings with a six-point lead over their nearest rival, the Houston Dynamo. The Hoops are paced by Guatemalan standout Carlos Ruiz, who scored 13 goals and recorded five assists last season and strike partner Kenny Cooper, who tallied 11 goals and four assists.


This will be the first time in the team's history that it will face FC Dallas in its home opener.


The Red Bulls' full 2007 season schedule will be announced at a later date.
