North Warren United wins "Field of Dreams"

Red Bull New York announced today that North Warren United, a youth soccer club from Blairstown, NJ, has won the natural grass field that the Red Bulls and the Chicago Fire will play on at Giants Stadium on Thursday, May 24 as part of the organization's "Field of Dreams" promotion.

"I would like to congratulate North Warren United for winning their own Field of Dreams," said Red Bull New York Managing Director Marc de Grandpre. "Not only will North Warren benefit from winning this top-notch soccer field, but the Blairstown community will also be able to use it for a long time."

To qualify, for every 15 tickets purchased for any of the Red Bulls' home matches against Colorado (May 13), Columbus (May 19) and/or Chicago (May 24), the respective soccer club received one entry to win the "Field of Dreams." North Warren United was randomly selected and notified via phone that they won. Representatives from the club will be recognized on the "Field of Dreams" during the Red Bulls' nationally televised match against the Fire.

"On behalf of North Warren United Soccer Club and the North Warren Regional School District, I would like to thank the Red Bulls for this amazing gift we are going to receive," said Diana Wagner of North Warren United. "The athletes in our community are looking forward to using this field for many years to come."

Red Bull New York held its "Field of Dreams" promotion twice last season. On April 8 in the team's home opener against the New England Revolution, the winner was Manalapan Soccer Club, a youth team located in Manalapan, NJ. On August 12, in the Red Bulls' friendly against FC Barcelona, the winner was Thistle FC (Kearny, NJ).

"This field is as good as any in the state and the great part of it is that it's for our kids," Manalapan Soccer Club President Mike Hammer said during the unveiling of the club's pitch last year. "The children of Manalapan will be able to play soccer on this first-class field for years to come."
