The Red Bulls reserves drew with Duke University 1-1 on Sunday at Blackbaud Stadium in Daniel Island, SC moving their preseason record to 5-1-5. Dane Richards scored the game's first goal in the third minute after stripping a Duke defender of the ball and finishing the ensuing breakaway. Mike Vedeira equalized in the 78th minute on a one-time shot from the right side of the penalty area off a throw-in.

Hunter Freeman made his Red Bulls debut, playing the full 90 minutes. He was acquired by N.Y. on Friday from the Colorado Rapids for a pair of draft picks.
Nineteen-year-old trialist Danny Stott played the first half. Stott, a product of the Bolton Wanderers' youth system in the English Premiership, flew with the team to Charleston on Friday.
Dave van den Bergh arrived in Charleston Saturday night and caught the tail end of the Red Bulls' game on Saturday. He captained the reserves and played the full 90 minutes against Duke. Van den Bergh arrived late because he was getting fingerprinted for his green card in New York. Once he obtains his green card, he will no longer count as a senior international on the Red Bulls' roster.
Jeff Parke played the full second half against Duke in addition to playing 20 minutes on Saturday night against Charleston as he continues to make steady progress on his hamstring injury.
