MLS suspends, fines Eddie Robinson

The Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee has suspended Houston Dynamo defender Eddie Robinson one game and fined him $500 for retaliatory actions against FC Dallas midfielder Andre Rocha last Thursday, May 29.

The fine and one-game suspension are in addition to the automatic one-game suspension and $250 fine for the red card Robinson received in the game. Robinson will serve the additional one-game suspension during Houston's road match on Wednesday, June 4 versus D.C. United.

Robinson was involved in a physical confrontation with FC Dallas midfielder Andre Rocha in the 80th minute of the match after Robinson had already been involved in a physical altercation with Marcelo Saragosa for which he received a second yellow card. Rocha received a red card during the same play, and after further review of the incident the MLS Disciplinary Committee ruled that Robinson's actions, not seen at the time by the referee, warranted additional disciplinary action.
