NEW YORK - Major League Soccer today announced the winners of year-end awards that recognize individuals and teams for outstanding contributions off the playing field.
MLS newcomers Toronto FC claimed three executive awards including the "Doug Hamilton Executive of the Year" given to Paul Beirne, Director of Business Operations for Toronto FC. Toronto also received the Marketing Executive of the Year award and Tickets Sales Team of the Year award. D.C. United acclaimed the most executive awards with six including the Ticket Sales Director of the Year, Operations Director of the Year and Team Public Relations Award, which recognizes the top PR Staff during the 2007 MLS season.
The League's twelfth championship game, MLS Cup 2007, will be played on Sunday, Nov. 18 at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C at Noon ET. The game will be televised nationally on ABC and Telefutura.
