"Luciano did a great job of keeping the play alive," Soehn said. "He was looking to set himself up to shoot, and when they closed him down, he was able to push it on to Jaime, and Jaime had seen the 'keeper out and he did a good job. I think if would have tried to turn with it, they would have closed him down, but he was clever enough to get it off his feet fast."
Now, the goal is just a reminder of what could have been.
But United have no time to mope. They open the 2007 MLS campaign against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET in a game that will air live on ABC Sports. Soehn said he knows his team will have to get over Tuesday's loss quickly.
"You have to," he said. "We're headed out to Denver tomorrow, and we'll focus and get ready for the season opener."
