MF Duke Hashimoto out for remainder of season with torn left ACL

Real Salt Lake announced today that MF Duke Hashimoto suffered a tear of his left anterior cruciate ligament during Wednesday's practice session. The injury, which will require surgery to repair, will force Hashimoto to sit out the remainder of Real Salt Lake's 2007 campaign. A date for the surgery will be announced in the upcoming days.

Currently in his second MLS season, the 22-year-old Hashimoto has yet to see action in an MLS regular season contest, but has been a regular for Real Salt Lake during international friendly, MLS Reserve Division, and Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup affairs. Hashimoto was acquired by Real Salt Lake last May in a trade with the Columbus Crew after the Ohio club drafted him in the fourth round (38th overall) of the 2006 MLS SuperDraft.
