McTavish undergoes partial meniscectomy

D.C. United rookie Devon McTavish will be out for two weeks following a successful surgery on his knee. The rookie midfielder underwent a partial meniscectomy in which a small portion of his meniscus was removed. Team doctor Chris Annunziata, MD, at Commonwealth Orthopaedic Associates, performed the surgery.

"We are pleased that Devon's surgery was a success and that he will be able to resume playing in two weeks time," said United Technical Director Dave Kasper.

McTavish is a product of West Virginia University, where he was named to the NSCAA All-Mid Atlantic Third Team after his senior season. The Winchester, VA native was selected in the fourth round (43rd overall) of the 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft on January 25. He has played 265 minutes in five games (three starts) for D.C. United this season.
