Massimo says Milan not on his mind

GLASGOW - Celtic midfielder Massimo Donati insists revenge will not be on his mind when the Hoops entertain his former club AC Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old joined the Parkhead side in the summer for a reported fee of £3million.

It followed six years at the San Siro, where Donati was loaned out for almost the whole period to various clubs such as Parma, Torino and Atalanta.

And although Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti was the man who waved him off in the summer, the Donati said: "I hope to show them that they made a mistake selling me but I don't look back.

"The past is in the past. I want to play well but I'm not out for revenge or anything like that.

"I want the team to play well and for me to play well within that team.

"It is very important for me that we win but it it is more important that the team wins. I always put the team first."

After losing 2-0 to Shakhtar Donetsk in their opening Champions League match a fortnight ago, the pressure is on Gordon Strachan's side to get off the mark in Group D against a team they have yet to beat in six meetings in Europe.

But Donati believes the Rossoneri can be affected by the passion of 60,000 fans at Parkhead.

He said: "After losing the last match, we really need to get points from this match.

"Milan do respect Celtic. They know that playing in such a stadium, in such an atmosphere, will be difficult for them just as it is for any other team.

"Kaka and Clarence Seedorf are the best players but they are all good players.

"But various things can happen during a game and I'm sure they have their own worries."
