Marshall called up for Jamaican friendlies

Toronto FC announced Tuesday that defender Tyrone Marshall has been called up by the Jamaican National Team for two upcoming friendlies.

Marshall, 33, has already departed Toronto and will join up with the rest of his teammates in Kingston for training on November 14th. He is joined by other high profile "Reggae Boyz" such as Ricardo Gardner (Bolton Wanderers, England), and Ricardo Fuller (Stoke City, England).

Jamaica will host El Salvador on November 18th, followed by Guatemala on November 21st; both games will be played at Kingston's National Stadium.

The defender currently sits with 59 caps for the national team and is a regular fixture on the Jamaican squad, having been with the team during their 2002, and 2006 World Cup qualifying campaign. He made his debut with the team May 17th, 2000 in a match against Romania.

Marshall started all 16 games for Toronto FC this season logging 1440 minutes after being picked up in a trade with the Los Angeles Galaxy that sent forward Edson Buddle to the west coast.

The Jamaican National team will be playing their first games under interim head coach Theodore 'Tappa' Whitmore, who replaces Velibor "Bora" Milutinovic who was fired earlier this week.
