Marcelo Gallardo may move to MLS

Gallardo's agent has yet to reveal the team he will play for. However, local press expect it to be D.C. United.

PARIS - Argentinian playmaker Marcelo Gallardo is to leave Paris St Germain and move to the United States, according to his agent Juan Berros.

Berros did not reveal which club the 32-year-old will join in the near future, but he claimed Gallardo's contract with the French side had been cancelled.

Berros told Radio Del Plata: "We managed to rescind the contract with Paris St Germain and he will continue his career in the United States.

"Gallardo is not going back to Argentina despite San Lorenzo's efforts.

"The offer San Lorenzo made was significant, quite unusual for Argentinian football."

The Merlo-born midfielder has won 47 international caps, scoring 16 goals, and has played in both the 1998 and 2002 World Cups.
