Lyon look to claim Ligue 1 crown

Lyon coach Alain Perrin hopes to lead his Lyon squad to their seventh successive Ligue 1 title vs. Auxerre.

Lyon coach Alain Perrin wants his team to go for the win in Saturday's potential title-clinching match at Auxerre - but does not care how a seventh successive Ligue 1 crown comes their way.

Les Gones are two points clear of second-placed Bordeaux heading into the final weekend and have a much better goal difference than their title rivals, who are away at Lens.

Therefore a win or a draw would suffice at the Stade l'Abbe-Deschamps as Perrin looks to claim a league-winner's medal in his first season in charge of the Rhone-Alps club.

"It is the final sprint, we can see the finishing line," he said.

"We have to make one last effort and pull out all the stops to win the title.

"But there will be a fired-up opponent in front of us. I am not expecting them to lie down - honour is an important thing.

"We will obviously have one ear on the Lens score, especially in the second half. But it doesn't matter how we become champions."

Auxerre are safe from the drop and sit in 15th spot after an up-and-down campaign.

They are not in particularly good form having lost four of their past six games.

Jean-Pascal Mignot and Thomas Kahlenberg have shrugged off knocks but centre-back Sammy Traore, on loan from Paris St Germain, is out with ankle trouble.

Jeremy Toulalan should be available for Lyon after a bout of gastroenteritis but fellow midfielder Juninho is a doubt with a knee injury.

France winger Sidney Govou is suspended for the league finale.
