Los Angeles Galaxy sign forward Gavin Glinton and midfielder Mike Randolph

CARSON, CA - The Los Angeles Galaxy have signed forward Gavin Glinton to the 18-man senior roster and midfielder Mike Randolph to the developmental roster, the club announced today. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not announced. Currently on loan back to the Charleston Battery, Glinton will join the Galaxy following the completion of the Battery's season in the 2006 USL-First Division playoffs.

"We welcome back a more mature and experienced Gavin Glinton to the Galaxy. We hope he can help with our push to the playoffs and beyond," said L.A. Galaxy President and General Manager Alexi Lalas.

"Michael is a young, dynamic player. He has benefited from his time at Portland and we look forward to watching him continue to develop under coach Yallop."

Glinton, 27, rejoins the Galaxy after a strong season with the Charleston Battery of the USL-First Division. The former Galaxy and FC Dallas forward enjoyed success in 2006 in his return to the field, earning USL - First Division All League Second Team honors after spending the 2004 and 2005 seasons as an assistant coach at Bradley University. Glinton led the Battery throughout 2006, playing in 25 games and registering 12 goals to help Charleston into the USL-First Division playoffs with a 13-8-7 record.

"We are excited to have Gavin join us after his USL season," said Galaxy head coach Frank Yallop. "He is a good, exciting player who has played in MLS and with the Galaxy before and has had a very good season with Charleston. We are happy to have him with us."

A former Brentwood, Calif. resident, Glinton was drafted by the Galaxy in the second round of the 2002 MLS SuperDraft following one of the most decorated athletic careers in Bradley University history. Glinton played in 31 games for L.A. in 2002 and 2003, scoring two goals and registering five assists before joining FC Dallas in a trade during the 2003 season. Glinton appeared in 10 games with Dallas before leaving MLS to take over as assistant coach at Bradley.

A member of the Turks and Caicos National Team, Glinton scored three goals and led the Turks and Caicos to its first ever international victory during three Gold Cup qualification matches in Cuba in April, 2006.

Glinton will join the Galaxy at the end of the Battery's season. Charleston hosts the Puerto Rico Islanders on Sept. 15 in the first round of the USL First Division Playoffs at 5:30 p.m. (PT) at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, South Carolina.

Randolph comes to the Galaxy after appearing in 25 games and playing 2,170 minutes with one assist for the Portland Timbers (USL-First Division) in 2006. A native of Chino Hills, Calif., Randolph guided Yavapai College in Arizona to a 24-2 record and an Arizona Community College Athletic Conference championship in 2005.
