Let your voice be heard

"Oh, say can you see..." yourself singing the National Anthem at a Houston Dynamo game? Houstonians will have that chance this spring in a contest open to the public.

The Dynamo's first annual "Let Your Voice Be Heard" competition will be held on March 24, 2007 as part of The Bayou City Art Festival. The contest begins at 2:00 p.m. CT.

To win the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at a selected Dynamo home game, contestants are asked to submit their renditions on tape to the Houston Dynamo office at 1415 Louisiana St., Suite 3400, Houston, 77002 (attn: anthem contest). Deadline for submission is March 18, 2007. There is no entry fee. The top 15 finalists chosen by the Dynamo will be invited to the Bayou City Arts Festival to compete in the ultimate singing competition.

Audience members at the festival will be given the chance to participate in judging. Those votes will be combined with those of a panel of area personalities, including Nathan Looney, Entertainment Director for Sherlock's Baker Street Pub and Grill, Chris Valdez, Creative Director for Barstool Magazine, and Dynamo President and General Manager, Oliver Luck. The event will be emceed by the team's new radio voice, Steve Mark.
