La Que Buena 1550 AM to serve as Spanish radio home

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Crew, in conjunction with La Que Buena 1550-AM, announced today that La Que Buena will serve as the Spanish Radio Home for the Columbus Crew in 2008.

"The Crew organization remains committed to forging a sound and mutually beneficial relationship with the local Hispanic community," said Chad Schroeder, the Crew's Vice President of Corporate Sales & Broadcasting. "Our partnership with La Que Buena is a vital initiative in serving that valued audience."

This season is the seventh straight that the Crew has aired its games on Spanish radio in Columbus. The broadcast team will be comprised of former Crew midfielder Marcelo Carrera, Crew Director of Hispanic Development Eduardo Carvacho and Benny Pietrangelo.

"We are excited to carry the Columbus Crew on WDLR La Que Buena 1550-AM for the 2008 season," said station GM Manuel Rojas. "We think it's a great fit for our audience with the presence of such Hispanic players as Guillermo Barros Schelotto and Alejandro Moreno. Our listeners do not have to be enticed as they already love the game of soccer."

Founded by Lamar Hunt, the Columbus Crew is Ohio's Major League Soccer club, anchoring a diverse sports and entertainment enterprise. One of the league's Charter Members, it will open its 13th season overall and tenth in first-of-its-kind Columbus Crew Stadium on Saturday, March 29, when it plays host to Eastern Conference-rival Toronto FC.
