LA Galaxy Foundation to host 'Camps for Kids'

CARSON, Calif. - The LA Galaxy Foundation will once again join forces with The Home Depot Center Charitable Foundation to focus on fun, fitness and health by hosting "Camps for Kids", presented by Valero and sponsored in part by Albertson/Sav-on. "Camps for Kids" is an opportunity for approximately 100 children ages 7-10 to participate in a soccer camp that will feature dribbling, passing, shooting and an obstacle course as well as health and nutrition tips.

The second edition of "Camps for Kids" will feature a special visit from Galaxy forwards Edson Buddle and Alan Gordon. Also joining the excitement on behalf of Albertsons will be U.S. Women's National Team goalkeeper Briana Scurry, who has participated in two Olympics and three Women's FIFA World Cups.

Athletes Performance, the official training partner of the Galaxy, will demonstrate how to properly warm-up before any physical activity and host a physical fitness station. Galaxy Soccer Camps staff will provide instruction and basic soccer skills for the kids. Albertsons/Sav-on will be on-site with a "Fear Factor" fruit sampling station as well as showing and giving the kids healthy snack options. Proctor & Gamble will have its Dora the Explorer and Diego Smile Studios present and give kids dental care tips and samples.
