L.A. Galaxy forward Landon Donovan nominated for ESPY Award

CARSON, Calif. - Los Angeles Galaxy forward Landon Donovan was today nominated for an ESPY Award in the category of Best MLS Player. Donovan is nominated alongside Jeff Cunningham of Toronto FC, Christian Gomez of D.C. United and Matt Reis of the New England Revolution.


Donovan, who on Sunday tied Eric Wynalda for the all-time lead in goals for the U.S. National Team, led the Galaxy with 12 goals and eight assists in 2006 and again tops the Galaxy scoring charts this season with two goals and five assists.


The 15th Annual ESPY Awards will be held at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Wednesday, July 11. Jimmy Kimmel and LeBron James will serve as the hosts of the show, which will be televised on ESPN on Sunday, July 15, at 6 p.m. PT.
