The Kansas City Wizards are proud to announce the rosters of the three KCW Juniors teams to begin play later in 2007. Tryouts were held Monday-Wednesday at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri.

"We were very excited about the number of players at tryouts and excited about the quality of players we have selected for our three squads," KCW Juniors Youth Director Chris Cissell said. "We have put together three teams that will learn under great soccer minds. We welcome them to the Wizards family."

In all, 73 players will compete for the KCW Juniors, wearing the Wizards colors and training within the Wizards philosophy under the tutelage of first-class coaches.

"We feel these teams will provide a very good start to the KCW Juniors campaign," Juniors Head Coach Paul Rideout said. "We want to be successful. Success isn't always about winning games. We want to win games, but it's about playing good soccer like the First Team does and about making players better."

Players based in the metro area will train three times per week with the KCW Juniors. All players will be released to play for their high schools before beginning the club season with the Juniors in November. Players based outside the immediate area will be required to attend at least one KCW Juniors training session per week.

In each age division, "alternate" players have been designated. Alternates will train with the KCW Juniors but be allowed to play in competitions as guest players with other clubs, much like the loan system prevalent in world soccer.
