The Kansas City Wizards announced today that midfielder Will John and defender Michael Harrington will represent the U.S. Under-23 squad at training camp February 10-16 in Carson, California. Currently preparing to qualify for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, U.S. National Team Head Coach Bob Bradley will get his first look at the player pool for the upcoming competition.

"This is a great opportunity for Will (John) and Michael (Harrington)," Kansas City Wizards Technical Director Peter Vermes said. "It's always an excellent opportunity when you get to play for your country."

Vermes said the Wizards will benefit from the experience John and Harrington will gain at camp.

"The level of competition they are preparing to face in California will be advantageous for their play with the Kansas City Wizards," Vermes said.

Kansas City Wizards defender Will John said that he is looking forward to competing for a spot on the U-23 team. "It's a great opportunity and it's always exciting to fight for a chance to represent the U.S.," John said. "I haven't been called for something like this in awhile, and I'm looking forward to the competition."

The rest of the Kansas City Wizards are currently training in Bradenton, Fla. While there, the team will participate in scrimmages against MLS teams around the league, beginning with a game against the New York Red Bulls at 10 a.m. on Feb. 13th.
