Inter Milan loses Figo for rest of season

Internazionale winger Luis Figo has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a leg injury in Wednesday's Coppa Italia semi final clash with Lazio.

An official statement on the club website, www.inter.it, read: "Luis Figo, who came off injured in the first half of Wednesday evening's Cup match against Lazio, underwent medical tests early this afternoon.

"The Portuguese midfielder has sprained the medial calf muscle of his right leg."

In a further blow to the Nerazzurri, star forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic is also ruled out for at least the next 10 days.

The Sweden striker has been sent back to his homeland for a week and a half to follow a specific program to remedy a problem with his left knee.

Inter may be without both players for their final five games of the season. The Nerazzurri are top of Serie A, four points clear of Roma.
