Houston Mayor Bill White proclaims Oct. 24 as 'Go Orange' Houston Dynamo Day

City of Houston Mayor Bill White has proclaimed Tuesday, October 24 as "Go Orange" Houston Dynamo Day, in honor of the team's success during its first year of existence.

The proclamation was made this morning in Houston's City Hall.

"The Dynamo is a great example of success to the City of Houston. We are extremely proud of our newest sports franchise and wish them much success in the playoffs", said White.

Houston Dynamo President and General Manager Oliver Luck and All-Star Defender Eddie Robinson represented the Dynamo at the event. Both presented Mayor White with an autographed poster that commemorates the Dynamo's first trip to the post-season.

"We appreciate the fact that Mayor White and the Houston City Council took time off their busy agenda to make this proclamation. The team is excited about its home playoff date on Sunday. I am sure they will make every effort to win the game and the series against Chivas USA in front of their home crowd", said Luck.

The Houston Dynamo fell 2-1 in their first-ever playoff game against Chivas USA on Sunday, October 22. The "Men in Orange" must now win by 2 goals or more on Sunday, October 29, if they want to remain alive in the 2006 MLS Cup Playoffs. Should they win by 1 goal, the aggregate score of the series will be tied, forcing the game to go into two 15 minute mini-halves. If the game is still tied after that, the game, and the series, will be defined by penalty kicks.

The game is slated for 7:00 p.m. CT. To purchase Dynamo playoff tickets, please call our ticket hotline at 713-276-7500.
