ORLANDO, FL (Friday, February 16, 2006)- The Houston Dynamo have made it two in a row tonight, beating Red Bull New York 3-1 in pre-season play at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.

Houston dominated the game throughout. Paul Dalglish scored his first goal of this pre-season, thanks to an assist from Brian Mullan at the 23rd minute. Although they had several close opportunities during the first 45 minutes, the Men in Orange could not covert, and finished the first half with a 1-0 lead.
Once the second half got underway, the Dynamo got themselves on the board once more. Chris Wondolowski would score his second goal in as many games at the 66th minute. Rookies Mike Sambursky and John Michael Hayden got credited on the assist, as "Wondo" finished the play thanks to a cross from the right side of the field.
With only four minutes left to play, the Red Bulls closed the gap. With a 35-yard blast to the far post, Ansu Toure, who came in as a sub in the second half, beat Zach Wells to score his second goal of this pre-season. That, however, was all Red Bull could do, as the Dynamo put the game away for good at the 87th minute. Rookie Nick Hatzke would get a low cross from the right side of the field, courtesy of Sambursky, to finish the play.
With the 3-1 win, the Dynamo are now 2-0-0 in pre-season play. The defending MLS Cup Champions will next face the Chicago Fire on Sunday, February 18. Kickoff is slated for 5:00 p.m. CT at the Walt Disney Wide World of Sports Complex.
Following that game, the Dynamo will then travel to Costa Rica on Monday to face defending Central American Champion Puntarenas FC on Wednesday, March 21 at Miguel "Lito" Perez Stadium in the away leg of their CONCACAF Champions' Cup series. Kickoff for that game is slated for 1:30 p.m. CT.
