Houston Dynamo selects Corey Ashe in second round of 2007 MLS SuperDraft

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Houston Dynamo have selected Midfielder Corey Ashe with the 26th overall pick (13th pick in the second round) of today's MLS SuperDraft.


Ashe, 5' 6", 140 pounds, comes to the Dynamo from the University of North Carolina, where he accrued 22 goals and 10 assists in 75 games played throughout his four-year career.

Born in Orange County, CA, Ashe was a Second-team All ACC selection in 2004 while playing for the Tar Heels. He was also selected twice as ACC Player of the Week.


As a high school player, Ashe earned Parade All-American honors in 2002 and All-America accolades from Adidas in 2001. Ashe was also a member of the U.S. U-17 National Team since 2001. At a club level, he played for the Beach FC Impact, representing the team as its captain for three years.
