Houston Dynamo President to be guest speaker at North Channel Coalition luncheon

HOUSTON, TX - Houston Dynamo President, Oliver Luck, will be the guest speaker at a luncheon sponsored by the North Channel Coalition, it was announced today.


Luck was selected president of the Dynamo in December, 2005, after the team, then known as the Earthquakes, decided to move from San Jose, CA. Before that, Luck had served as CEO of the Harris County Houston Sports Authority since December 3, 2001. In his role, he oversaw the operations of the HCHSA, the governmental entity created in 1997 to provide the financing, construction, and management oversight of the three large sports and entertainment venues in Houston: Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros; Reliant Stadium, home of the Houston Texans and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo; and Toyota Center, home of the Houston Rockets, Comets, and Aeros.


        The proceeds of this event, which will be held on Wednesday, May 10, at noon, at San Jacinto College North, will benefit the victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and their children.</p>


        Tickets to the event are $50 each, and a table of 10 will run for $1,000.  This will include 10 meal tickets, table recognition, and gifts.  A drawing for Houston Dynamo tickets will also be held.  Those who want to participate, however, must be present to win.  In addition, Houston Dynamo Goalkeeper, Pat Onstad, will be present and available for autographs.</p>
