HOUSTON, TX - The Dynamo Player Development System is off to a great start with the selection of Walberto "Pana" Vazquez, a native Houstonian, as the first member of its Player Development System.
Vasquez will join the Dynamo Player Development System's U-18 team. He is currently a senior at Cy Falls High School, where he plays as an attacking midfielder/forward. At a club level, he plays for the Houstonians, and has been a part of the South Texas Olympic Development Program for the last 5 years as well as a part of the Region 3 Olympic Development Program.
"I think he has the right attitude and the desire to make it big", said Dynamo Director of Youth Development James Clarkson. "He also has technical ability, which allows him to play well. I think he will go on to have a good professional career."
Vasquez, along with his parents, will be at the Houston Dynamo offices on Tuesday, December 19, at 4:00 p.m. for his official presentation as the first selection of the Houston Dynamo Player Development System. Houston Dynamo team offices are located at 1415 Louisiana, Suite 3400, in Houston TX, 77002. Media are welcome to attend.
The Houston Dynamo Player Development System (DPDS), in partnership with the South Texas Youth Soccer Association (STYSA), will become one of the elite youth development programs in all of America. This system will provide area youth soccer players with a platform to develop their skills and a direct "path to the pros."
The DPDS will kick off on Monday, December 18.
