HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Dynamo, Texas A&M University, and the Bryan-College Station Convention & Visitors Bureau will be making a major announcement regarding the team's CONCACAF Champions Cup home match on Monday, January 22 at 1:30 p.m. CT.
The announcement will be made at the Aggie Soccer Complex's Players Meeting Area, in the Texas A&M University campus.
Houston Dynamo President and General Manager Oliver Luck will be in attendance, along with Assitant Head Coach John Spencer. Other guests to be present at the event include Bryan Mayor Pro Tempore Mark Conlee, College Station Mayor Pro Tempore Ben White, Royce Hickman, President and CEO of the Bryan-College Station Chamber of Commerce, and Bill Byrne, Texas A&M University Athletic Director .
The CONCACAF Champions Cup is the longest running international club competition in the Central American, North American, and Caribbean regions, and has crowned the champion club of the Confederation since its inception in 1962. As MLS Cup Champion, the Houston Dynamo is automatically entered to participate in this event.
In addition to becoming the CONCACAF Champion, the winner will also have the chance to play as the CONCACAF representative against the world's best teams in the 2007 FIFA Club World Cup, while the Champions' Cup runner-up will be one of the three CONCACAF invitees to the 2007 Copa Nissan Sudamericana.
