Houston Dynamo to hold first annual Celebrity Penalty Kick Challenge, benefiting the Methodist Cancer Center

HOUSTON, TX - You've seen them in action on the football field, on stage, and everywhere else...now is time to see them show their skills from the penalty kick spot, and all for a good cause!


At halftime of this Thursday's game against the Colorado Rapids (8:00 p.m. CT, ESPN2), the Houston Dynamo will hold its first-annual Celebrity Penalty Kick Challenge, benefiting the Methodist Cancer Center. At this event, local celebrities from different backgrounds will do their best to score from the penalty kick spot, with each receiving two attempts to score.


Among those celebrities who have agreed to participate are Texans lineman Chester Pitts and running back Ahman Green, as well as Armando Lichtenberger and Jesus Angel from the multi-Grammy-award-winning Latin group La Mafia.


The Methodist Cancer Center is one of the largest and most rapidly evolving programs in the country and the second-largest provider of Cancer care in Texas. Since 1984, forty-four thousand patients have been diagnosed or treated for Cancer at the Methodist Hospital. In addition to comprehensive Cancer treatments, Methodist offers numerous outreach programs in the community, focused on both awareness and prevention.
