Whereas: This proclamation honors the Houston Dynamo as defending Major League Soccer champions; and,


Wheras: Playing for the Dynamo are goalkeepers Pat Onstad, Zach Wells, and Jordan James: Defenders Wade Barrett, Ryan Cochrane, Eddie Robinson, Patrick Ianni and Craig Waibel: Midfielders Corey Ashe, Mike Chabala, Ricardo Clark, Brad Davis, Dwayne De Rosario, Eric Ebert, Nick Hatzke, John Michael Hayden, Stuart Holden, Brian Mullan, Richard Mulrooney, and Erik Ustruck; Forwards Joseph Ngwenya, Brian Ching, Nate jaqua, Paul Dalglish and Chris Wondolowski; Head Coach Dominic Kinnear, Assistant Head Coach John Spencer, and Goalkeepers Coach Mike Toshack; Head Athletic Trainer Bruce Morgan; Team Administrator Nick Kowbam, and Equipment Manager Beau Abdulla; and,


Wheras: The Houston Dynamo have developed into an incredible success story, winning the MLS Cup Trophy in its first season, and establishing MLS records for the longest shutout streak in league history (727 minutes), and fewest goals allowed (23) in 2007; and,


Wheras: The Men in Orange have qualified for the playoffs for the second consecutive season, being matched against interstate rival FC Dallas in the 2007 Western Conference Semifinals; and,


Wheras: The team is poised to repeat as Major League Soccer Champions, aiming to make history by becoming only the second team in league history to accomplish such a feat.


The City of Houston salutes and commends the Houston Dynamo on this important occasion and extends best wishes for a championship winning season.
