Houston Dynamo adds three in 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft

HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Dynamo have selected Midfielder Nick Hatzke, Midfielder Erik Ustruck, and Defender Justin Douglass in the 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft.

Although he was red-shirted in 2005 due to injury, Hetzke started all 20 games for UC Berkeley in 2004, leading the team in goals (7), assists (8), points, 22, and game-winning goals (4). This was good enough to earn him All-Pac-10 first team honors.

As a senior in 2006, Ustruck started all 23 games as a senior captain for Santa Clara University, finishing the season with one goal and three assists. He was also an All-WCC Second Team selection in 2003, was selected as the National Player of the Week (Oct. 3, 2005), and was also an All-WCC Second Team selection in 2006.

Originally from Spring, TX, and a graduate of Strake Jesuit High School, Douglass earned First Team All-MVC honors for the second consecutive season and was named to the NSCAA/adidas All-Midwest Region Second Team in 2006 while playing for Missouri State University. He was also named to the 2006 MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team for the second-consecutive season and was named the MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week on Sept. 13.

All three selections must report to the team on Thursday, January 25th for entry physicals. The Houston Dynamo will open its 2007 regular season on Sunday, April 8, against the Los Angeles Galaxy. For tickets, call the Houston Dynamo offices at 713-276-7500, or log on to www.houstondynamo.com.
