Houston Dynamo acquires Scottish forward Paul Dalglish

HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Dynamo has acquired the rights to Scottish forward Paul Dalglish, it was announced today.

"We are delighted to have another young, talented player on our team. I believe (Dalglish) will be a great fit to what Coach Kinnear wants to build with his team as we move forward with the remainder of the season", said Dynamo President and General Manager Oliver Luck.

Dalglish, 29, trained with the club last week. Prior to joining the Dynamo, Dalglish had played for Scottish club Hibernian FC, where he had played in two games during the present Scottish Premiere League season.

Dalglish also played in three games in last year's UEFA Cup, one of them as a starter, scoring one goal. Throughout his career at Hibernian FC, Dalglish played 12 games, 5 as a starter, with 2 goals scored.

"We are looking forward to adding some depth to our roster", said Dynamo Head Coach Dominic Kinnear. "We feel Paul is a good acquisition for our club, giving us versatility and strength, something we will definitely need as we make a run for the playoffs."

Dalglish should be ready to make his debut with the Dynamo by early September. The next game for the Dynamo will be on Saturday, August 19, against Real Salt Lake at Rice Eccles Stadium. Kickoff for that game is slated for 8:00 p.m. CT. For ticket information, please call 713-276-7500, or log on to www.houstondynamo.com.
