The Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation and Mervyn's Department Store's ChildSpree Program teamed up to present the 7th Annual Holiday Assist Program, on Saturday, December 9, 2006. The holiday event hosted at the Torrance Mervyn's, benefited 50 underprivileged children.
Accompanied by Captain Landon Donovan, Forward Alan Gordon, Midfielder Pete Vagenas, Defender Troy Roberts, Goalkeeper Steve Cronin, and L.A. Galaxy and Galaxy Foundation volunteers, each child went on a $100 shopping spree for new clothing and shoes. In addition, Mervyn's provided each child with a 15% discount on all purchases during the event.
After shopping, the Galaxy Foundation treated the children to a holiday party, with presents, and goodie bags.
