HELSINKI - Roy Hodgson has tendered his resignation as Finland coach.

Hodgson, 60, narrowly failed to lead the national side to the finals of Euro 2008.

The widely-travelled Hodgson has vast experience in the international game and led Switzerland to the 1994 World Cup finals.

The former Internazionale, Blackburn and Udinese coach's name is bound to be linked with several national-team coaching vacancies.
