Goalkeeper Caig arrives

The latest Dynamo addition, goalkeeper Tony Caig, has arrived in Houston and is quickly getting acclimated to his new team and his new town. Caig signed last week after his stint with Scottish Premier League team Gretna.

The 33-year-old Caig brings a wealth of international experience with him, including stints with Gretna, Blackpool, Charlton, Hibernian and Newcastle United.

"Mike Toshack (Dynamo goalkeeper coach) phoned me up and asked if I would be interested in moving to MLS," said Caig. "It moved pretty quickly from there. It is just an opportunity I thought in this stage of my career I couldn't turn down; it is a great thing especially with the MLS going the way it is going at the moment."

With the departure of Zach Wells in the Bobby Boswell trade, the Dynamo was looking for a backup goalkeeper with international seasoning. Caig is a perfect fit.

"I tried to keep up-to-date with all that's going on in the world of football," said Caig. "I have played with a lot of different teams in the United Kingdom and had a spell in Vancouver and North America as well, so that helped me make the decision to come here. It is just another part of the journey which I am really looking forward to."

Caig thinks he has immediately found a home at Robertson Stadium.

"As soon as I walked into the dressing room I can feel that togetherness amongst the group because they have been together winning two championships. You can feel that there is a winning mentality from the manager right through the squad. "
