Getafe reach finals despite draw

Despite Racing Santander's early lead, Getafe's Javi Casquero scored to put the aggregate game out of reach.

SANTANDER - Getafe reached their second consecutive Copa del Rey final with a 1-1 draw at Racing Santander which handed them a 4-2 aggregate win.

Racing, who suffered a 2-1 Primera Liga defeat to the same opposition on Sunday, got off to the best possible start when Pedro Munitis fired them into a 1-0 lead on the night after six minutes.

Racing winger Oscar Serrano was dismissed after 75 minutes though, and any slim chance of a comeback was extinguished when Javi Casquero scored five minutes later.

The second semi-final, in which Valencia and Barcelona are tied at 1-1 from the first leg, will be played on Thursday.
