Game notes: Columbus 2, Kansas City 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Crew continued its torrid start Saturday, getting first-half goals from Adam Moffat and Robbie Rogers on its way to a 2-1 victory over the Kansas City Wizards at Crew Stadium. The Wizards got a late goal back when Claudio Lopez converted a penalty.


NOTES:


• The Crew has now won four straight games overall and its 5-1-0 start is the best six-game start in club history, eclipsing the 1998 squad.

• The Crew is now 4-0-0 at home and has already won just one fewer home game than it did all of last season (5-5-5)


• Crew midfielder Robbie Rogers has already matched his goal total (3) of last year.


• K.C. midfielder Roger Espinoza, a member of Ohio State's 2007 NCAA runner-up squad, was red carded in the 36th minute for a foul on Frankie Hejduk.


• Crew midfielder Emmanuel Ekpo made his MLS debut in the game, coming on for Adam Moffat in the 54th minute.


• K.C. forward and Mansfield native Ryan Pore entered the game in the 73rd minute.


• The Crew and Wizards will square off in a Reserve Division match Sunday morning (May 4) at 10 a.m. at the Crew training Center at Obetz. It is the 0-1-0 Crew Reserves' first home game of the season and admission is free.


• The Crew returns to league action next Saturday, May 10, at San Jose. The game will be televised live on CSN starting at 10 p.m. ET.
