Galindo debuts on 'Republica Deportiva'

CARSON, Calif. (Friday, August 31, 2007) - Cuban forward Maykel Galindo, currently Chivas USA's leading scorer with 10 goals, will appear this Sunday, Sept. 2 on Univision's 'República Deportiva,' America's most watched Spanish-language television sports program, live from the show's Miami studios.


Hosted by renowned television personality Fernando Fiore, alongside co-hosts Rosana Franco and Félix Fernández and the ever popular 'Senadoras,' 'República Deportiva' airs on Univision every Sunday, with West Coast edition at 12:00 noon PT (KMEX-34 in Los Angeles), and East Coast edition at 11:00 a.m. ET (check local listings).


Galindo's appearance on Sunday's 'República' will mark his first ever live appearance on the show, which boasts over a million viewers each week.


Chivas USA (11-6-3, 36 pts), is currently tied for second place in MLS's Western Conference, with eleven games remaining in the 2007 season. The Red-and-White, idle this weekend, return to action next Thursday, Sept. 6, when they host D.C. United at 7:30 p.m. PT, before taking on the New York Red Bulls, also at The Home Depot Center, on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 5:00 p.m. PT.
