CARSON, Calif. - The LA Galaxy announced today that AM 570 KLAC will be the club's official English language radio broadcaster for the 2008 MLS season. Under the terms of the agreement, AM 570 and sister station KTLK AM 1150 will broadcast a minimum of 24 Galaxy games this season. Each broadcast will also include either a 30-minute pregame or postgame show.
"We are pleased to be partnering with the top sports talk stations in Southern California," said LA Galaxy Assistant General Manager Tom Payne. "AM 570 will give all of our fans the latest information and insight on the Galaxy throughout the 2008 season. We are also happy to welcome back Joe Tutino, who will once again return as the official voice of the Galaxy."
KTLK AM 1150 will host the debut broadcast with the 2008 season opener on March 29, when the Galaxy take on the Colorado Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo.
"We are very excited about the Galaxy joining the AM 570 KLAC family," AM 570 KLAC General Manager Don Martin said. "They have a tremendous, passionate following in Los Angeles and it's an honor and a pleasure to be the voice of the team. We welcome Galaxy fans everywhere to AM 570 KLAC."
For the 11th straight season, Joe Tutino will serve as the radio voice of the Galaxy. A native of San Diego, Tutino will handle the play-by-play duties for all 24 broadcasts as well as hosting pregame and postgame shows. For home matches, former Galaxy assistant coach Ralph Perez will join Tutino in the radio booth, serving as the broadcast's lead analyst.
